Manchester City fans want the club to sign Euro’s Breakout star

After his inspiring performance in Germany’s 4-2 win over Portugal in the ongoing Euro’s, Manchester City fans have urged Pep Guardiola to bring German left-back Robin Gosens to the Etihad.
Even though Manchester City were heavily linked with the German previously, it died down with
Pep declaring that he plans to continue using Oleksandr Zinchenko as his first-choice left-back.
However, with the Gosens’ recent performances for both Atalanta BC and Germany, the cityzens may be pushed to change their minds.

The 26-year old who had an amazing season for Atalanta in Serie A is capable of playing at both the left-back and the left midfield position. He contributed with 10 goals and 6 assists in 2523 minutes that he was on the pitch, averaging a goal in almost every two games.
An attacking full-back, the German averages 2.15 shot-creating actions per 90 and applies 3.24 pressures in the attacking third, one of the highest in full-backs.
With Benjamin Mendy constantly unfit and with Manchester City looking to offload the Frenchman in the upcoming transfer window, Gosens can be a brilliant alternative for him. He will not only add depth to the problematic left-back position but will also challenge the Ukrainian Zinchenko for the starting position.
If Manchester City, who are also heavily linked with Nuno Mendes as a potential left-back signing, do decide to pursue the signature of Robin Gosens, it would not be an easy venture.
With fighting competition from the elite clubs in Europe including Chelsea, arch-rivals Manchester United and even FC Barcelona, signing the versatile player may not be as easy a task as previously thought of for Manchester City.
With two years left on his current contract with Atalanta BC, the Italian club, according to Sky Deutschland, are willing to part ways with Gosens for around 34 million pounds.
Though that may not seem like a very huge number, it may just be a number too big for the Sky Blues. With the club also looking to bring England superstars Harry Kane and Jack Grealish to the club, an extra 34 million pounds might not be available for Pep Guardiola to sign the German.
If however, Manchester City are able to procure enough funds to sign the German, it will be a brilliant deal for both the player and the club.
