In a recent report by Sky Sports, Real Madrid will attempt a signing of World Cup winner Julian Alvarez if they fail to bring in Kylian Mbappe.

It’s not a secret that Real Madrid have been and will continue to pursue PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, but after years of failing to do so, they now have their sights set on Man City’s Alvarez if Mbappe doesn’t join the club.

The 23-year-old signed for Manchester City back in January of 2022 but stayed on loan at River Plate until the Summer of that year.

After being a Citizen for more than a year now, Alvarez has made 35 appearances for the club and scored 11 goals too.

One of his most memorable goals came in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final clash against Real Madrid, adding the overall fifth goal of the tie.

Despite his young age, Julian has already achieved a historic fact after becoming the only player in history to win a World Cup and a treble in the same season. Pretty incredible, you’d say.

Quite understandably, he’s caught the eye of fellow clubs, and Real Madrid is one of them. While this matter is a next-year sort of matter, it won’t stop fans from pondering if Alvarez will indeed agree to a transfer to Madrid.

The young striker is on a five-and-a-half-year contract at Man City, so possibly Madrid’s attempt will be nothing but a failure. Unless the idea of a move is fancied by the player or even the club, will remain to be seen later on.

In my own opinion, Alvarez still has a few more seasons left at City before he or the club themselves even considers a departure.
