According to recent reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, Manchester City could now be stuck with Benjamin Mendy as Inter Milan shift their focus to Manchester United’s Alex Telles.
The Frenchman who played under 1000 minutes in the league last season was rumored to move away from the club due to his fitness concerns and lack of game time at Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola even had a replacement ready for him in Sporting Lisbon’s Nuno Mendes. But now if Benjamin Mendy stays at the club, Mendes’ arrival may get delayed to January.
Inter Milan wanted Benjamin Mendy as an improvement on Simone Inzaghi, but are now are being very cautious with their approach. Inter Milan are said to be waiting for a decision on Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic and will only make a move once his future is secured.
According to Corriero Dello Sport, Inter Milan were looking at Benjamin Mendy and Alex Tells as options and now PSG has added Layvin Kurzawa also into the mix.
If Benjamin Mendy stays at City it may cause a lot of problems for the club. Firstly, his 90k-a-week salary will be a major pothole in their pursuit of Harry Kane and Jack Grealish this summer. Secondly, if he stays then the signing of Nuno Mendes as mentioned before may have to be postponed for the near future.
He still has two years left on his contract and his price will plummet if left on the bench any longer, but with the Frenchman clearly out of Pep Guardiola’s plans, it looks highly unlikely that he will feature regularly next season.
What do you think Pep Guardiola and Manchester City should do? Should they persist with a sale for the left-back or should they give him another chance to prove himself at the club?
