The most interesting part about the tie apart from football was the fact that CIty have been heavily linked with Erling Haaland. Though Haaland failed to find the net in either of the outings against the Cityzens, he has done sufficiently well to earn the praise of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

MEN understands that the Spaniard is of the opinion that Haaland is already a top player and will continue to grow further. Further, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss revealed that the plan was to not let Haaland get a sniff of the ball as the Norweigan striker is “almost unstoppable”.

Pep also emphasized Haaland’s strengths which are his pace and his ability to link up with his teammates.

"“I would say this player is almost unstoppable and the best way to defend against these talented players is to not let them have the ball,”“They want the ball, they need the ball so don’t [let them] have it. For that, we need to play good and try to let him live away from our box. It happened in both games.“He is a player not [just] because he is fast, the quality of his first control, how he links with his mates, strong in the air and good finishing. He’s a top-class player, top class, and will be stronger in the future.”Source: Manchester Evening News"

It is not going to be an easy summer window for the Cityzens if they hope to land either Kane or Haaland as numerous top clubs are also in the race for Haaland in particular. Moreover, with the current financial situation of football clubs all over the world, spending over £150 million on a single player is going to be a huge ask from even a financial powerhouse like Manchester City.
