Heading into the International break still without a defeat and now over a quarter of the way through the season. Breaking records, seemingly every game, today was no different. Our 31 points and plus 31 goal difference is the best start to a Premiership season after 11 games.

Collectively, as a team and squad, Manchester City have been without equal, Aguero is now two goals above Eric Brook and Gabriel Jesus still hasn’t lost with Manchester City. That’s before you even look at his goal record, one every 90 minutes.

Individually though, against Arsenal at the Etihad, how did they do?

Ederson – 6.

Didn’t have too much to do but was, for the most part, assured. Had a bit of a nightmare with losing grip of the one shot. Luckily being pushed over the line worked in his favor.

Walker – 7.

Pretty much kept Alexis Sanchez quiet down his side of the field. In the attacking aspect of his game, again, his crosses whipped into the area looked dangerous.

Stones – 6.

Didn’t have much to do and looked a little nervous in certain moments. He could just be mentally tired from the previous game, when he was a wall of a defender.

Otamendi – 5.

Again, not much to do at the back. Didn’t get on the score sheet this time but also cannot remember too many rash decisions although he did pick up a yellow.

Delph – 6.

Assured on the left. I remember one part of the play when after losing his feet but keeping the ball. Eventually coming up and away from danger.

Fernandinho – 6.

Assisted for the opening goal of the game. Again, he was there to do the dirty work. When John Stones had a foray forward before losing the ball, it was Fernie who dropped into his spot. These things tend to go unnoticed, but are critically important.

DeBruyne – 8.

Slow start before scoring the opening goal. Pulling the strings in the midfield he is a class above most others in the League.

More from Man City Square

Silva – 6.

Assisted in the ‘off-side’ goal but also had loose passes. A high level is expected from Merlin and he fell a little way short of that overall yesterday.

Sterling – 6.

Dangerous on the wing and, of course, won the penalty when cutting inside. There are still those elements of his game which frustrate fans though, and it was on display in this game. Caught in two minds whether to pass or shoot he eventually did neither at a vital stage of the game.

Sane – 6.

Again he was a threat down the wing, albeit not as productive as in recent games. Tiredness from midweek and before, maybe. He has, and will, have better games

Aguero – 8.

Carrying the emotion of the day with him onto the field I felt early on. He worked hard and was a threat. Scoring the penalty calmed him down a bit. Going in off the post is a good omen that you have luck on your side I think.

Gundogan – 6.

Came on for Raheem with a little over ten minutes to go. Did a steady job securing the midfield but nothing much of note.

Bernardo – 6.

A similar story as with Gundo. Three minutes from time, coming on for Sane, there wasn’t much time to influence a game already won. A overcongestion of the midfield was designed to manage the game to a satisfactory, and fairly comfortable, conclusion.

Jesus – 7.

On for record breaker, Aguero, he got his name on the score-sheet. Illustrating the strength of the bench at City right now.
