Things are shaping up for Joe Hart to return to EPL. The only problem is that it would likely not be for Manchester City.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

I have some good news: Joe Hart is most likely coming back to the Premier League! According to The Mirror, Hart will say “no” to another loan spell away from Manchester City at Torino.

The bad news: It’s probable he will leave the Etihad for good in order to remain on England boss Gareth Southgate’s radar for Russia 2018.

Up until recently, Liverpool was considered Hart’s likely destination. But now, BBC Sport reports Jurgen Klopp insists he has no desire to bring the 30-year-old keeper to Anfield.

So where will Hart call home after his exile in Italy? The same Mirror article suggests Arsenal or Manchester United. There are rumors about Southampton, West Ham, Tottenham and Chelsea being suitors too.

It’s safe to assume City isn’t an option, no matter how much supporters hope for a reconciliation between Pep Guardiola and their fan-favorite goalkeeper. It’s just not going to happen. The colloquial bridges have been burned; the proverbial bad blood is still fresh.

And that’s a real shame. Everyone knows the Sky Blues could have used Hart’s shot-stopping this season. Not to put too fine of a point on it or pontificate about what ifs, but I wonder whether Pep’s side would be where Spurs are now if Hart made some saves Claudio Bravo didn’t.

There’s really no use on dwelling on it. It’s just sad. It’s an end of an era sort of thing that’s taking a prolonged time actually to end. I feel like I’m watching a plane crash in slow motion.

Whatever club’s sticks Hart ends up guarding, we wish him the best — that is unless they belong to United. In that case, to hell with him because that betrayal is unforgivable.

Then again, Pep betrayed him first…

Oh, I don’t know! The tears and feelings are free-flowing at this point. They’re mixed up in the turmoil of a situation I believe could have been completely avoided, and I’m grieving about it.

Sorry for the eulogy.
