The club announced that three upcoming Premier League fixtures would be shifted to different time slots in order to put the Manchester City matches on TV.

Time to update your calendars. The league announced it was moving two Manchester City home matches and one away trip in order to best fit into the live TV scheduled.

Matches being moved into better TV spots not only helps locally, but also for worldwide coverage. Typically in most countries only one EPL match would be shown at a time. Shifting Man City’s games to new time frames helps other markets get the chance to show their match to the millions of City fans around the world.

Which matches are moving?

City’s away trip to Sunderland and the Stadium of Light will now be at 4 pm BST on Sunday March 5th. With the Black Cats currently sitting in 19th place, this should be an easy win for City who are looking for a way back in to the top four. Although no Premier League match is ever easy or as planned.

The first home match is the tie against Stoke City on Saturday March 11th. City will be facing their old manager Mark Hughes. The game is being moved up to the 12:30 pm BST slot in order to appear on Sky Sports as the first game that day. That weekend though is an FA Cup weekend, and both teams are still in the competition, thus a reschedule is likely.

The next weekend City is now set to face Liverpool at 4:30 pm on Sunday, March 19th. At that point there will be less than two months left in the EPL season and both teams will be the game as three points required.
