Manchester City met Leicester City in their FA Cup match, beating their fellow Women's Super League side with a 3-1 scoreline to qualify for this season's quarter-final.

After booking their place in the League Cup final last week, a few days later City turned attention to the FA Cup, where they had a major fixture ahead of them against Leicester City.

18 minutes in and Leila Ouahabi got the Cityzens a 1-0 lead after she made the most of a scrappy situation in the penalty box.

Kerolin Niccoli then got the second to make it 2-0 while going into halftime, also making it her first goal for the club since her arrival a few weeks ago.

Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw got Manchester City their third to really seal the deal with half an hour remaining.

Leicester City did manage to get one back through Nelly Las, but it was nothing but a consolation for them as it wasn't enough to save them from elimination.

The match ended 3-1 for Manchester City and they now confirm their place in this season's quarter-final.

While City's quest for the WSL has realistically come to an end and their focus now coming towards finishing in the top three, the Sky Blues still have three other cup competitions where they remain in contention for silverware.

Man City will be playing Chelsea in the final of the League Cup after a 2-1 win over Arsenal, they are now into the quarter-final of the FA Cup and also are in the final eight of the UEFA Champions League, their next fixture coming against Chelsea.
