According to recent reports, Manchester City have turned their attention to 18-year forward Benjamin Sesko and are ready to fight Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid for his signature.
Manchester City continue to look for a replacement for Sergio Aguero and after Harry Kane decided to stay put at Tottenham. In their pursuit, Man City have looked at Dusan Vlahovic and Erling Haaland also as other options.
The 18-year-old has impressed in recent times and is currently filling Erling Haaland’s boots at Salzburg, where he has drawn comparisons to the Norwegian superstar. He has already scored three times for Salzburg in eight games.
The youngster has certainly shown a lot of potential, particularly with his physique and goalscoring prowess, something that has also got him compared to Haaland.
Though Ferran Torres and Gabriel Jesus have stepped up and played as a number 9 for Pep Guardiola, none of them are traditional strikers. The young Slovenian, however, could turn out to be an excellent choice for Pep Guardiola and Manchester in the number nine role, especially considering his physique and energy that would help him fit well in the Premier League.
With brilliant chances being created by Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Jack Grealish, and countless other brilliant passers of the ball, Sesko will get ample chances to score at Manchester City.
While Harry Kane looks to stay put at Tottenham Hotspur and the certainty remains around Haaland’s move to Manchester City, do you think considering City’s new youth policy Sesko would be a good move? Or do you think Sesko is too young to be given the sort of responsibility Guardiola is looking to put on the shoulders of a number nine?
Sesko would likely cost around €15million, which could end up being a bargain for the young Slovenian international.
