According to recent reports, Manchester City are ready to bid for 70 million Serie A sharpshooter Dusan Vlahovic again next summer.

The Serbian broke onto the scene last season when he scored 21 goals and assisted 2 in 40 appearances for Fiorentina. These numbers coupled with outstanding number 9 skills, the youngster is one of the most highly acclaimed youth players in Europe right now.

He has hence attracted interest from a handful of Elite European clubs including Manchester City and Juventus.

Manchester City are on the lookout for a striker and are yet to fill the void left by Sergio Aguero. As it became apparent that Harry Kane would not be heading to the Etihad this summer, Dusan Vlahovic became one of the many names presented as an alternative option.

Even though personal terms were said to be agreed upon, no official bid was made by Manchester City.

According to the Italian newspaper “Calcio Mercato”,  Man City are ‘ready to return’ for the young Serbian, most probably during the next summer transfer window.

According to the same report, Fiorentina are handing the 21-year-old a new contract, which will run till 2026 and will include a release clause of 70 million pounds for clubs based outside of Italy.

This certain condition in the contract gives Manchester City an advantage over Juventus.

Other transfer targets include the lucrative Erling Haaland. However, the Norwegian’s high wage and agent commissions could become a major stumbling block for Manchester City despite their riches. However, his attractive €75 million release clause becoming active next summer may be a deal too good to ignore.
