Manchester City star receives praises from Liverpool hero
By Zoheb Alam
Before the start of the summer transfer window, Manchester City had set sights on Jack Grealish and Harry Kane. However, the club could only sign the former as they agreed to pay a record fee of 100 million pounds for the services of the Aston Villa skipper.
It would have been a perfect transfer window for the Citizens if they had managed to scoop up Harry Kane from Spurs. Despite persistent bids from City, there was no reciprocation from the Lilywhites. However, the final nail in the coffin came in the form of Harry Kane’s Twitter confession as the forward clearly stated that he has no desire to leave the club and is happy to stay put with the North London outfit.
For now, Manchester City have moved on from the Kane transfer saga and instead have shown that they have enough resources upfront to scrape through any side. The club demolished Norwich and Arsenal in their previous two league fixtures as they scored five in each game. City’s new signing in Grealish has put up commendable performances in both the games and has looked in great touch thus far.

In a recent interview with Paddy Power News, Liverpool hero Phil Thompson was all praises for City’s new no.10.The former Reds defender had said :
"I would have to say Jack Grealish is the signing of the summer. I was hoping that Liverpool would be in for him, but £100 million took it beyond most teams except for Manchester City. He’s a real game changer and a fantastic player. Liverpool have the likes of Harvey Elliott and Sadio Mane that can create a spark out of nothing, and similarly he brings that to the teams that he plays for. For me, he would have fit in well at Anfield too."
Thompson did talk about how his former club could challenge for the title but believes that Grealish could boost City’s chances of winning the league. His words were :
"Before Jack Grealish signed, I would have said Liverpool are a good shout for the title, but now he has made all the difference to City’s title challenge."
Moving on,Manchester City are sitting seventh in the table after two wins and a loss. The Sky Blues are slated to face Leicester City on 11th and would hope to bag three points at the King Power Stadium.
