Manchester City interest confirmed amid Cristiano Ronaldo links
Manchester City need a striker and the time is running out for them. With less than a week to go before the summer window slams shut, City will look to sign a striker in the coming days.
It is believed that it is only a matter of time before Manchester City launches an improved bid for Harry Kane. Tottenham Hotspur, though, remain firm on their stance of not letting their main man leave for a direct rival, this summer. Consequently, the Lillywhites rejected a £100 million City bid for the services of the English striker.

As it stands, Gabriel Jesus is the only recognized number nine in the line-up but the Brazilian has shown that he is much better off as a wide-man than as a central player, i.e, a striker.
Having said that, the Cityzens have also been linked with a move for Cristiano Ronaldo in the last week or so. It is understood that Ronaldo is trying to ‘engineer’ a move to Manchester City this summer and Juventus are open to letting him leave, should a suitable bid arrive. The Bianconerri is said to be looking for €25 million to part ways with the former Real Madrid forward.
Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, however, has confirmed that Manchester City are not interested in signing Ronaldo, indicating that the defending Premier League champions remain fixated on Harry Kane.
"Cristiano Ronaldo situationHe wanted to “look for potential new options”.PSG are currently not interested.Mendes contacted Manchester City but Juve want €25m and #MCFC have NO intention to pay any fee. “Complicated”.Juve are still convinced that Cristiano will stay.Source: Twitter"
Perhaps, Ronaldo being a former Manchester United man could play a role in City not actively pursuing the 37-year-old. Ronaldo is exactly the type of player that City require if they are to win their maiden UEFA Champions League trophy. Ronaldo’s exploits in the UCL are well known and it would have been interesting to see him play under Pep Guardiola.
As it stands, City are yet to make any major signing apart from Jack Grealish. Aymeric Laporte, Bernardo Silva, and Gabriel Jesus have all been linked with a move away from the club and it remains to be seen if City finally do manage to launch the massive bid that Spurs are looking for, to part ways with their record goal-scorer in Harry Kane.
