Bayern Munich superstar offered to Manchester City
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Bavarian Football Works), transfer expert Ian McGarry claimed Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski has been offered to Manchester City among a few Premier League clubs.
Robert Lewandowski, 33, is happy at Bayern Munich but wants a new challenge with an elite European club before he turns 35. The Polish international, who has a contract at the Allianz Area until 2023, scored a staggering 56 goals for club and country last season.

The striker has started the new campaign in top form, scoring three goals in two games, including a brace against Borussia Dortmund to help clinch Bayern the DFL-Supercup earlier this week.
While Lewandowski is believed to be frustrated by Bayern’s unwillingness to sell, he is unlikely to spoil his relationship with the Bavarians with whom he’s won 18 major honors, reports Sky Sports.
As per Ian McGarry (h/t Bavarian Football Works), however, the Polish striker was offered to Premier League trio—Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool this summer, with each club expressing a ‘tepid amount’ of interest in the possibility of signing the Bayern stalwart.
“Lewandowski has been offered to Liverpool, to Manchester United, and to Manchester City, each of whom have expressed a tepid amount of interest in the player regarding the possibility of signing him,” said McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast. (h/t Bavarian Football Works)
“However, each of them has also said that the €110 million (£94m) which Bayern are leaking to the German media that they would require to allow Lewandowski to leave is far too much for a player of that age.”
If that is the case, Manchester City are certainly right to not pursue Robert Lewandowski, even though the Bayern man is one of the best in his positions for a long time now. Sergio Aguero’s exit in July means Pep Guardiola only has Gabriel Jesus as a recognized no.9 in his squad.
The Spaniard has used the false 9 system to devastating effect from midway last season, with Manchester City winning the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.
He did start Jesus in the 5-0 thumping of Norwich City in the new Premier League season’s first game at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, and while the Brazilian put in a Man of the Match display from his new role down the right flank and Ferran Torres did well as a no.9, there’s no hiding from the fact that Guardiola wants Tottenham’s Harry Kane to lead his team’s attack this season.
