Manchester City are willing to generate more revenue through sales as they look to fund the mega transfer deal for Harry Kane. The English Champions have already made an expensive purchase this summer as they scooped out Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for 100 million pounds, making it the costliest transfer for the club.
The Sky Blues are now willing to listen to offers for some of their ‘unwanted’ stars. It is believed that stars like Bernardo Silva, Aymeric Laporte, and Gabriel Jesus have all been touted to leave the club this summer.
But as per the latest reports from The Daily Mail, Manchester City have apparently set a price tag of 60 million pounds for the services of Aymeric Laporte. There has been a lot of buzz regarding the future of the Frenchman as he has been keen to leave the Etihad this summer.
The 27-year-old defender had a decent outing with Spain in the recent European Championship as he managed to get a considerable amount of game time with his national side. However, his situation under boss Pep Guardiola has been the opposite, to say the least.

Last season, the Agen-born defender had only 16 appearances in the Premier League as Guardiola preferred using Ruben Dias and John Stones as his prime center-backs. Also injuries, too, have a big part in the defender’s absence and hence had restricted him to a bench role in the title-winning campaign.
For now, the center-back has a contract with Manchester City till the summer of 2025. Although, chances are that the former Athletic man would prefer a move away from England with some reports suggesting that he could well head back to Spain. Top La Liga sides like Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have been closely linked with a move for the Frenchman.
I truly feel that Laporte will not make it to Guardiola’s side as a regular starter this season. A move away from Etihad might just be a win-win situation for both the club and the player. But right now, the price tag of 60 million pounds might not a feasible option for a lot of clubs especially for a defender who is injury prone and also has not been a regular in the first-team for almost two years.
