Manchester City enter transfer race for Serie A hotshot
According to TGR RAI Toscana reporter Sara Meini, Manchester City are interested in signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Dusan Vlahovic, 21, enjoyed a breakout last season with Fiorentina, scoring an eye-catching 21 goals in Serie A. The Serbian international, who only turned 21 midway through the 2020/21 season, is also on the radar of Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, as per Sara Meini.

Manchester City are the latest entrant in the transfer race for the La Viola star. The defending Premier League champions’ priority is to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane after breaking the British transfer record for Jack Grealish earlier this month.
Harry Kane, 28, who played a vital role in helping England reach the European Championships final, has not travelled with the 25-man Spurs squad to Portugal for their Europa Conference League play-off tie with Pacos de Ferreira.
The England skipper’s future remains up in the air amid concrete interest from Pep Guardiola’s City.
The Sky Blues had a £100m offer for Kane turned down earlier in the transfer window but that has not dampened their hopes of signing him. In fact, as per a report from The Independent, Manchester City are ready to make a staggering £150 million bid to lure Tottenham to negotiating table.
Spurs chief Daniel Levy’s rigid stance of not selling his prized asset to a Premier League rival this summer has forced City to turn their attention towards Dusan Vlahovic. Fiorentina want to tie Vlahovic down to a new deal but it looks very likely they’ll end up selling him this month considering the money the clubs have put on the table of late, reports Sara Meini.
After the opening day 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, signing a striker has become even more important for Pep Guardiola. Having lost Sergio Aguero to Barcelona on a free transfer in July, City clearly needs a natural goalscorer in the box and Vlahovic would be a good fit at the Etihad Stadium.
With Atletico Madrid and Spurs also in the hunt for the 21-year-old’s signature, it’ll certainly be difficult for the Sky Blues to prise the Serbian away from Fiorentina with less than two weeks left for the transfer window to close down.
