The teenager spent the second half of last season with Lincoln City in Football League One, thoroughly impressing with his speed, dribbling, flair and movement.
He played 25 times for Lincoln City, scoring six goals and registering four assists in the process.
After featuring heavily for the Cityzens throughout pre-season, Rogers is wanted by Bournemouth, who will be challenging for promotion under new manager Scott Parker.
Alan Nixon claims any move for the Manchester City young gun this summer will likely be a loan deal, with the Cherries firmly “in the queue”.
Morgan Rogers proved himself too good for Football League One level, starring on the left flank for Michael Appleton’s Lincoln City side. Unlikely to feature much for the Sky Blues this season due to a lot of competition, it’s in his best interests to go out on loan once again.
A move to the Championship would be ideal, considering the pace, physicality and intensity of the division will certainly help the 19-year-old toughen up. And no better club than Bournemouth in the English second-tier to go and gain first-team experience.
Scott Parker is a young, smart tactician with fresh ideas currently at the helm of the Cherries. He gave a lot of opportunities to young talents during his time with Fulham, with the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo, Antonee Robinson and Fabio Carvalho impressing in the Premier League last season.
Coming back to Rogers, the highly-rated City prospect would be a perfect fit for Bournemouth and fans can expect this particular story to intensify in the coming days, at least.
Meanwhile, City boss Pep Guardiola will aim to register his first win of the season against newly-promoted Norwich City on Saturday after losing the season opener to Tottenham Hotspur in north London.
