Manchester City key target has taken a big call on his future
By Zoheb Alam
According to reports from The Times, Manchester City are all set to miss out on Harry Kane this summer. Also, the reports have further claimed that the Spurs forward has decided to stay with the North London side in the ongoing transfer window.
This could well be a big blow for the Sky Blues who recently acquired Jack Grealish for 100 million pounds and were looking forward to adding a reputed striker to their ranks. Since the departure of Aguero, the club has been desperate to find a replacement for its legendary forward and therefore were keen to sign the Englishman before the start of the new season.
On the other hand, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has evidently made it clear that he will not be entering into negotiations for his club’s main man. The Lilywhites have done their best to retain Kane as they have reportedly tried to price out City from a potential transfer deal. At the current moment, the club has valued its talisman for a mammoth figure of 160 million pounds.
Kane’s will to win trophies at the highest level has left the Spurs in a spot of bother. Also, football pundits believe that the English international would be better off at a quality side like Manchester City or Manchester United.

Last season, the Lilywhites had a disappointing season in the Premier League as they could only manage a seventh-place finish in the points table. Unfortunately, the team also lost its only piece of silverware as they faced defeat against Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. After the loss, Kane stressed the fact that he is more focused on winning team trophies rather than winning individual laurels. The English international had said :
"When I look back at the end of my career, these are the things I will go over and take in more but the goal right now as a player is to win team trophies.“It is bittersweet. I would rather be winning team trophies and this one but it is what it is."
We are yet to receive an official statement from Kane on his final decision to stay with his current employers. For now, the forward is back to training and hence has a chance to start against Manchester City tonight.
