According to recent reports, Juventus want to sign Manchester City’s Ayermic Laporte on a loan for the upcoming Serie A season. Juventus are in the market to sign a central defender ever since Merih Demiral decided to leave for Atlanta recently.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

The 27-year old Spanish central defender who signed for the club in 2018 lost his starting spot to John Stones last season. He has only played a combined 31 games in the league in the last two seasons. This has led to Laporte asking for a transfer out of the club.

According to a Manchester City source, “The player has made it clear he feels a move this summer would benefit all parties, and there is a chance this happens with major interest in him. But City are not forcing him out and would be happy for him to stay at the club if that is how the situation plays out.”

Previously Barcelona and Real Madrid had expressed an interest in signing the 27-year old but since then nothing has taken place. A La Liga return still remains the defender’s priority.

Laporte won’t be allowed to leave on a cheap since he still has four years left on his contract.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus want to sign Laporte on a loan right now as they cannot afford a permanent transfer due to their current financial situation.

Reports suggest that Pep Guardiola has allowed the defender to leave and wouldn’t stand in his way, but he much rather that the defender leave on a permanent transfer than on a loan.

What do you think Manchester City should do? Should they let Laporte go on a loan and hope that Juventus make the deal permanent or should they wait for a club to make a permanent transfer offer?

If you were Laporte, which club would you choose? Juventus, Barcelona or Real Madrid?
