Manchester City are all set to pursue their second big signing of this summer
By Zoheb Alam
Manchester City have already wrapped up a 100 million pound deal for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish. But soon, the English Champions could turn their attention towards another “big name” in the Premier League.
According to this latest revelation from The Guardian, Pep Guardiola has now officially confirmed that they are interested to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer. It has been no secret that the Cityzens have been long admirers of the Englishman as last month they lodged an official bid of 100 million pounds for the services of the striker.
So far, the Sky Blues have not found any success in their chase of the Spurs talisman. However, things could work in City’s favour as there have been repeated attempts by the club to hold negotiations for the star forward.
Manchester City’s will to replace Sergio Aguero will, however, come at a costly price tag. There are chances that the Cityzens might have to cough up a transfer fee in excess of 150 million pounds.
The English Champions although might try to fund this expensive deal by raising finances through sales. The likes of Aymeric Laporte, Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva are being tipped to leave the Etihad before the start of the new season.

Looking at the current situation, it is tough for Manchester City to invest 150 million pounds for Kane. Although negotiations are expected to commence in the next few days, there are chances that the North London side might just manage to retain their no.1 forward.
In the coming few days, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will play a key role in this mega transfer as he himself is said to have been reluctant to sell the English superstar. Should authorities at Spurs decide to let go of their star attacker, likely, the club will atleast churn out a transfer fee of around 120 million pounds.
