Manchester City have made their intentions to sign Jack Grealish clear after months of speculation linking the two parties. Pep Guardiola has been arden admirer of the English playmaker and the Premier league champions are now ready to make their move for the 25-year-old.

Yesterday, City submitted their first official bid for the Aston Villa skipper and now Fabrizio Romano reports that the talks between City and Aston Villa could reach a conclusion in the coming days and that only one of two possible outcomes are expected and nothing in between.

Grealish’s case isn’t like Harry Kane’s wherein if the English striker cannot leave Tottenham this summer, another trophyless season at the White Hart Lane would likely mean that Daniel Levy would reduce the asking price for his most prized asset and finally cash in on him.

It is understood that Aston Villa are eager to keep their skipper but will not stand in his way in case he wants to join Manchester City, provided a suitable offer arrives.

The Italian football journalist on Twitter mentioned that Aston Villa have already offered a new contract to Aston Villa, with the length likely to remain the same but with an exponential increase in the player’s wages and thus, money is out of the equation, as it stands.

"Manchester City are pushing to complete Jack Grealish deal “in the next few days”. Medical ready if total agreement will be reached with Aston Villa. #MCFCOfficial talks started two days ago with a deadline: agreement within next week or Jack will sign a new deal with #AVFC.Source: Twitter"

It is totally up to the player to decide his future now. Let’s face it. City have the financial strength to meet Aston Villa’s £100 million demand and the Cityzens are likely to be straightforward on that front.

Having said that, it is up to Grealish to either continue at his boyhood club or join Manchester City and play in the UEFA Champions League next season, possibly winning a domestic title or two in the process. However, if he decides to continue at his boyhood club by accepting the new contract, it is highly unlikely that City will push for him next summer or in the near future.

Grealish signing a new contract at Villa is certainly a very realistic outcome and that would probably dent his ambitions of conquering Europe but with the way Aston Villa have been improving under Dean Smith, it will not take long for the Villains to book their spot in one of the European competitions in the coming years.
