Manchester City may have set their eyes on Harry Kane and Jack Grealish this summer, but they are also willing to ‘push hard’ to land Barcelona teenager Ilaix Moriba, who is currently amidst a contract impasse with the Cules.
The Spaniard is currently stalling on a new deal, as he is reportedly eager to sign an extension only for a couple of seasons. That way he can renegotiate the terms later, when the club would be in a healthier state, financially.
The latest reports emerging out of Spain suggest that amid this contract impasse, the youngster is being forced to train with the youth team.

Manchester City ready to pounce upon Ilaix Moriba
Mundo Deportivo ( via Sport Witness ) suggest that Barcelona are aware of City’s interest and the Catalans are known to be ‘running out of patience.’ Moriba is now entering the final year of his contract and the negotiations are progressing very slowly.
It is said that Barca recently offered the teenager a 5-year deal, and Moriba was satisfied with the terms but was still somewhat ‘sad’ that the club has forced him to train with the reserves.
The Catalans as of yet, have not received any proposals from any suitors, and are, therefore ‘calm’ about the situation.
Manchester City and Chelsea have previously been linked to Ilaix Moriba and given the current impasse, both would be ready to pounce if given the chance.
However, it must be noted that Moriba is not, by any means, a priority for either of those clubs, as City have their eyes set on Jack Grealish and Harry Kane, while Chelsea are currently negotiating a deal with Sevilla for Jules Kounde.
Barcelona meanwhile have not set any deadlines regarding Moriba’s future, and will only make a call whether to sell/renew in the next few weeks.
