Fabrizio Romano gives an update on Manchester City pursuit of Aston Villa star
Manchester City have been linked with the English duo of Jack Grealish and Harry Kane this summer. Let’s talk about Harry Kane first.
The Cityzens are in desperate need to bring in a proper striker before the next season starts, given that their record goal-scorer in Sergio Aguero has left the club and is now a part of FC Barcelona.
With Pep Guardiola not keen to count on Gabriel Jesus for the big games, it is clear that the Cityzens are looking at other options to fill the void left by Aguero.

With Tottenham insistent on not letting their main man leave this summer, one can assume that it would be a miracle if the Cityzens manage to land the Tottenham star. Moreover, the Cityzens are not willing to splash £150 million that the Spurs are rumored to be demanding for their record goal-scorer.
Coming to Jack Grealish, the situation looks a lot better as the Cityzens are said to be close to landing the 25-year-old. The Aston Villa skipper has evolved into one of the World’s best playmakers and is now ready to take on Europe in the UEFA Champions League, which is something, with all due respect to Aston Villa, that cannot be attained at Aston Villa, currently.
The Villains are said to be demanding a fee in the range of £100 million for their skipper and the Premier League champions are expected to make an official bid in the coming days. A few days back there were reports claiming that Aston Villa are set to offer their skipper a new contract, one that would significantly increase the amount of money that he earns. Moreover, Grealish is also rumored to be ‘reconsidering’ the move to Manchester City.
Speaking about the Jack Grealish situation, reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on his podcast ‘Here We Go’ mentioned that despite all the contrary reports, Grealish is still a “priority” for the Cityzens.
"“Jack Grealish is another priority for Manchester City. He’s not a plan B, he’s a priority. He’s a top, top target for Manchester City.”“He’s on the list, he’s always been on the list. They are in contact with people close to the player, they are in contact with Aston Villa. And so, Jack Grealish is a serious, serious target.”Source: ‘Here We Go’ podcast"
This should technically put all the rumors about Grealish considering staying put at Aston Villa to rest, at least for now. City woud hope to sign Grealish in the coming days, given that they haven’t made any signings thus far, as the Cityzens look to push once again for their maiden UEFA Champions League title next season.
