Manchester City have been tipped to undergo a major squad overhaul this summer as the Premier League champions continue to chase the coveted UEFA Champions League title, after coming perilously close to winning their maiden UCL title last term.

Pep Guardiola’s priority is to win the UCL title with City which would be the club’s first in its history and his first, since leaving FC Barcelona.

The Premier League champions have been linked with Harry Kane and Jack Grealish this summer but landing both of them would be a huge financial challenge for the Cityzens despite their financial might.

The English duo could well cost around a sum in excess of £230 million and if reports are to be believed, City have got a plan to raise £260 million for the transfers of the English superstars but that involves selling five key first-team players.

Mirror understands that City are looking at Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Aymeric Laporte, and Bernardo Silva to attract a few lucrative offers this summer.

Sterling, Laporte, Silva, and Mahrez have been linked with a move to Spain while Gabriel Jesus is being eyed as an option by Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri.

It is understood that at least £260 million in cash could be raised by selling off these five players. This would in turn allow the Premier League champions to splash the proceeds toward Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.

Moreover, by letting go of these five players, who have fallen down the pecking in the CIty ranks, the Sky Blues would be freeing up a huge chunk of their wage bill.

It remains to be seen if City are to sell a chunk of their squad this summer. The plethora of quality available at the Etihad Stadium means that City would still be in a green zone if they are to sell Jesus, Sterling, Mahrez, Laporte, and Silva.
