Vieira is looking at youngsters from both Arsenal and City with a keen eye and we can expect him to make a move for a few more youngsters in each team.
Signed three years ago from Paris Saint-Germain, Claudio Gomes was brought to Manchester City to replace the ageing Fernandinho. But under Pep, Claudio has made only 3 appearances for the first team, where he has played a combined 22 minutes.
Even though he has played only 22 minutes for the first team, Gomes has performed well for the reserve team. The versatile youngster played not only in the midfield but also everywhere in the defence. This certain aspect of his game has attracted a lot of interest from Vieira.
Patrick Vieira has a good track record of developing young players and it is not surprising that Crystal Palace has given him the task of signing younger players.
Manchester City are ready to let Claudio Gomes go on loan for this season as they still see him as an important player for the future. But if Gomes finds constant game time under Vieira, he may be tempted to push for a permanent transfer.
Do you think Claudio Gomes is a good long term replacement for Fernandhino or should City let him go on loan and look to sign someone else?
