Manchester City are ready to pounce upon some big names in the summer window as they look to add solidarity to their present lineup. With deals lined up for the likes of Jack Grealish and Harry Kane, City fans would be hoping to see the English duo wearing the Sky Blue outfit ahead of the new season.

However, Pep Guardiola is keen to bring more fresh faces this summer as a new name seems to have sprung up on his wishlist. According to TuttoSport, Guardiola is insistent to sign Piotr Zielinski from Napoli this summer.

The City boss has reportedly asked the club officials to sign the Napoli star this summer. The Polish international has had an excellent time with the Gli Azzuri last season. In terms of stats, the midfielder was able to rack up 36 appearances in Serie A and scored eight goals along with 10 assists.

In the past, the 27-year-old has been compared to Kevin De Bruyne with many believing that the Polish international has the potential to emulate Belgian’s success. However, the Polish international has failed to lift the big honours of the game and hence could consider moving away from Italy this summer.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

The former Udinese man signed a new contract last summer and is expected to stay with the Gli Azzuri until the summer of 2024. The prospect of joining an elite club like Manchester City could force the midfielder to shift base in the ongoing transfer window.

One of the biggest advantages of bringing Zielinski would be that he could fit in as a cover for De Bruyne. The Belgian superstar has turned 30 and hence would need rest after his heavy workload in the past couple of months.

The Polish midfielder could well be deputy to the City star ahead of the new season and hence can also have a better chance at winning silverware.

So should Manchester City consider signing Zielinski from Napoli?
