Manchester City have decided on their alternative to Harry Kane for this summer
Manchester City’s interest in signing Harry Kane is well known. For the better part of the last year, City have been trying to land the Tottenham man but for obvious reasons, Spurs are just not ready to part ways with their key player.
With the ongoing trophy drought at Spurs, the Lillywhites’ best chance at winning silverware is with Harry Kane in the lineup.

Having said that, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not a fan of selling Kane, let alone selling him to a direct rival. Consequently, a £150 million price tag has been kept for the signature of the Englishman.
With each passing day, it is growing unlikely that Kane would leave Tottenham this summer as he reportedly said that it is ‘exciting’ to have Nuno Espirito Santo as the new boss at the White Hart Lane.
It is very likely that Kane would want to give it a season under the former Wolves boss before deciding his future.
Elsewhere at Southampton, Danny Ings has rejected a new 4-year contract with the Saints and hence, Southampton will be looking to sell Ings in order to get a price for him. In the January window, Manchester City were heavily linked with the former Liverpool striker but the move could not materialize.
Mirror understands that City are keeping a close watch on Danny Ings as he could be on his way to Manchester this summer.
Ings, 28, is certainly a cheaper alternative to the likes of Erling Haaland and Harry Kane but is also an efficient one. He may not rack up those impressive numbers but he certainly knows a thing or two about finishing.
As it stands, Gabriel Jesus is the only striker at the Etihad Stadium and City are in the market for a striker. Numerous reports have understood that City are willing to move past Harry Kane if Tottenham continue to stand in their way.
Danny Ings scored 12 times in the Premier League last season and managed to assist on four occasions. It will be interesting to see if he can unlock his true potential under Pep Guardiola if the transfer does take place.
