Manchester City to make a shock move for Fulham star
Manchester City are likely to take this year’s summer window very seriously with the Premier League champions looking to bolster all areas of their squad.
Pep Guardiola is expected to be backed by the full financial might of the Cityzens this summer and numerous reports are already claiming that the Sky Blues have almost completed the transfer of Jack Grealish. While any future about the player’s future will only be taken after Euro 2020, it is clear that City are the favorites to sign the Aston Villa skipper.

The left-flank has been an area of concern for Pep Guardiola. In fact, in the first half of the last season, the position of the left-back was one that was subjected to a constant shuffle between Oleksandr Zinchenko and Joao Cancelo. Zinchenko did solidify his place as the first-choice LB in the XI in the second half of the season but one of the major talking points of that saga was the curious case of Benjamin Mendy.
Having arrived at Manchester City back in 2017, the Frenchman has only managed to make 49 appearances for the club with the player spending a major chunk of his time out injured.
Despite being relatively fit last season, Mendy made only 13 appearances for City and it is fair to assume that he could be on his way out this summer.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have already started to eye potential replacements for the Frenchman with Fulham’s Antonee Robinson being eyed as a potential signing this summer, as per the Mirror.
Robinson, 23, was a part of the Fulham squad that got relegated back to the Championship last season. The American however, made 24 starts for Fulham while making 28 appearances in total. In the process, he has attracted the attention of heavyweights such as Manchester City.
In fact, 18 months ago, Robinson was extremely close to making a move to AC Milan but the deal fell through after an anomaly in Robinson’s heart rhythm was detected in the medical examination.
The 23-year-old is certainly a good option for City with the asking price for him said to be at a bargain fee of £10 million. However, it remains to be seen if the Cityzens would like to observe him for another season or consider loaning him in order to see how he adapts under Pep Guardiola.
