Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are very impressed with the 25-year old and are ready to break the British transfer record to bring him to the club. But Aston Villa’s wealthy ownership means that they are not obligated to sell the midfielder, since they have enough money to bring reinforcements to the club.
Grealish, who had one of his best seasons in a Villa shirt before being out for prolonged time due to an injury, signed a new contract at the Villa Park last September. The deal secured the home-grown player’s future at the club till 2025 and is rumoured to contain a 100 million pounds release clause.
The 25-year old was very close to signing for Tottenham Hotspur in 2018 before the takeover by American investor Wes Edens and his business partner Nassef Sawiris, an Egyptian billionaire. Since then, the club captain has signed two new deals amid transfer rumours every transfer window.
Jack Grealish is admired by both Kevin De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola at the club hence making him the ideal signing for the club.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa have broken their transfer record by signing Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City for 33 million pounds to relieve some creative responsibility from Grealish’s shoulders, hence giving him an extra incentive to stay at the club.
Jack Grealish would be the perfect addition to the Manchester City squad, especially with Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling rumoured to be leaving the club in the transfer window.
But with Aston Villa aiming for European football next season and Jack Grealish being the centre of the plan, will Manchester City be able to tempt the English superstar to move away from Villa Park?
