Manchester City remain keen on a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s star striker Harry Kane this summer.
The England international, 27, is currently focused on Euro 2020, but there is a lot of speculation surrounding his future. The striker wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer in order to fulfill his ambitions of winning titles and trophies.

Harry Kane has gone another year at Tottenham without winning a trophy, and set to turn 28 next month, he apparently believes that the time is ripe for him to move on from his boyhood club.
The Englishman, rated as one of the best strikers across Europe, enjoyed a productive individual 2020/21 campaign with Spurs, netting 33 goals and registering 17 assists on top of that in all formats. He is currently at the prime of his career and certainly deserves more.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola views Kane as the player to replace the departed Sergio Aguero in his otherwise star-studded attack.
However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is hesitant to sanction Kane’s sale this summer, valuing him over £150 million in a bid to scare off potential suitors.
It is believed that the Cityzens have apparently accepted that it’ll be difficult to sign Kane this summer. That being said, Spanish outlet Fichajes claim the English champions are eyeing a move for Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann as an alternative to Kane.
Antoine Griezmann, 30, has failed to live up to the high expectations at Barcelona since joining in an eye-watering €120 million deal from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019. The Frenchman had an underwhelming 2020/21 campaign at Camp Nou, despite notching 18 goals and supplying 12 assists in 44 games.
Fichajes reports Griezmann being an ‘old wish’ of Pep Guardiola, who views him as the ‘ideal signing’ to keep his false 9 system alive next season. The forward, who is currently at Euro 2020 with the French national team, is open to the idea of quitting Barcelona after just two seasons and would be interested in a move to City if it became an option.
The report adds the Sky Blues could take advantage of Barcelona’s current financial instability and make an offer for the 30-year-old forward in an attempt that leaves all parties involved in good taste.
It remains to be seen whether or not City’s interest in Griezmann is genuine. If they are serious in bringing him and a move to the Etihad Stadium materialises, the Frenchman would get a chance to enjoy his football once again.
