Two Manchester City stars-Aymeric Laporte and Bernardo Silva have been linked with moves away from Etihad. Both players have been subject to a lot of interest from top sides in Europe and hence are being backed to leave the club this summer.

However, a recent report from Marca has revealed that the Sky Blues are not interested to sanction the sale of this star duo this summer.

Laporte and Bernardo Silva have received strong interest from Barcelona as the Blaugrana themselves have been eager to add more quality to their present roster.

Duncan Castles had recently claimed in his podcast“The Transfer window” that the Catalans were ready to offer upto eight players as makeweights in a potential swap deal for Silva. The likes of Ousmane Dembele, Jordi Alba, Clement Lenglet, Pique, Sergio Busquets, Trincao, Coutinho and Sergi Roberto were all said to be considered as part of this exchange.

In the case of Laporte, it was reported that the Frenchman is ready to part ways with his current employers due to lack of game time at the Etihad. La Liga heavyweights like Barcelona and Real Madrid have been eager to secure the signature of the centre-back and hence are potential suitors for the former Athletic star.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

As of now, Silva and Laporte have a contract with Manchester City which will see them both remain at the club till the summer of 2025.

The Premier League holders have already bid farewell to Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia as the star duo has now shifted base to the  Camp Nou.

Pep Guardiola needs to ensure that he does not lose further firepower in the ongoing summer transfer window. The Sky Blues are expected to make some changes up front as they have set sights on forwards like Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.

All in all, I would prefer to see both Silva and Laporte stay with the Cityzens as they offer enough quality to the squad. Losing them could hamper the team balance ahead of the new season and therefore, the Sky Blues must convince both their stars to stay with the club this summer.

Will it be a wise move for Manchester City to sell Laporte and Silva?
