Manchester City will be hoping to sign some quality players in the ongoing summer window. The  Sky Blues have apparently set sights on superstars like Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Sergio Ramos.

The Premier League holders are also interested to sign Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo as they look to add more quality to their midfield ahead of the new season.

Latest reports from Daily Express have now claimed that Manchester City may have to pay a sizeable fee for the services of Locatelli after his recent performances for the Azzuri.

The Italian international is currently away with the national side for the ongoing European Championships. His strong performances against Turkey and Switzerland have now helped his side to move to the next round of the competition.

It has been claimed that the midfielder was apparently priced at 35 million pounds before the Euros.

His robust outings in the ongoing European Championships will now likely see a surge in his present valuation.

The 23-year-old midfielder had a good outing with Sassuolo last season as he made 34 appearances in the league campaign and had scored four goals for his side.

Locatelli is said to have been interested in a move away from his present side. Meanwhile, the likes of Arsenal and Juventus have reportedly joined the race for the services of the Italian.

So will Locatelli move to Manchester City or……..

At present, it is tough to ascertain whether the Sassuolo midfield sensation would move to Etihad or not. The Sky Blues will have to battle it out with two top sides in the shape of Juventus and Arsenal. Both sides have shown a considerable amount of interest in the signature of Locatelli and hence are also potential suitors for the midfielder.

It will not be surprising to see the Italian move to Turin under the reigns of Massimilano Allegri who himself is planning to rebuild the Bianconeri squad.

How much for Locatelli?

It all started with a basic fee of 35 million pounds. Now that Locatelli is firing all cylinders at the ongoing European Championship, his valuation is certain to skyrocket in the next couple of weeks.

On the other hand, Sassuolo will make sure that they churn out a substantial fee for their star midfielder. The Serie A outfit will likely set their final price at around 70 million pounds.

Manchester City might pull themselves out of the race if they are told to pay any fee north of 70 million pounds. The Cityzens are already in pursuit of expensive targets like Harry Kane, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland. Henceforth, they will be reluctant to shell out a mammoth transfer fee for the Italian international.
