It is an open secret that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to fill the void left by Sergio Aguero.
Harry Kane, 27, is recognised as one of the best strikers in world football, a player who could walk into the starting XI of any team in the world.
For all the goals he’s scored and helped Tottenham immensely in rubbing shoulders with the Premier League big boys in recent years, he is yet to win a trophy in his career so far.

The England international is seemingly running out of patience and has told the North London club of his desire to leave this summer. Kane’s unsettled situation at Tottenham has alerted a number of elite European clubs, including Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola has made Kane his No.1 summer transfer priority, as he aims to go one step further in the Champions League following the heartbreak in Portugal.
Kane has the opportunity to play for the best team in England following Aguero’s departure to Barcelona, but for Manchester City to land him they’ll need to break the bank.
According to a report presented by Dean Jones at Eurosport, the Sky Blues are preparing alternatives to Kane, who is likely to cost no less than £150 million in this transfer window.
City are long-term admirers of Joao Felix and looked into signing the forward before he left Benfica for Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019 for €126m. However, the Portuguese international’s uncertain situation at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium coupled with Atletico Madrid’s interest in signing Bernardo Silva has revived City’s interest in the youngster, Jones claims.
Bernardo Silva, 26, wants to leave England this summer and that the Cityzens are ‘willing to let him leave’ if a ‘suitable’ offer comes in.
The report state that City are generally not open to any swap deal offers for their creative Portuguese midfielder this summer, because of the finances being generated helping in the cause to sign Guardiola’s two top targets—Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.
However, in potentially Joao Felix’s case things could be different, considering the Mancunian club’s long-term interest.
It remains to be seen what City’s approach will be if they fail to sign Kane, but one thing for sure—Guardiola has his eyes fixed on the Tottenham star and chances of him getting his top target is high, after club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak’s interview earlier this month.
