Manchester City eyeing Arsenal full-back to replace Benjamin Mendy
Kieran Tierney was arguably the best player at Arsenal last season while Manchester City’s woes at the left-flank continued. In the first half of the season, the position of left-flank gave much trouble to Pep Guardiola as Benjamin Mendy failed to make his chances count. Moreover, the Frenchman’s constant troubles with injuries didn’t help the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss either.

Oleksandr Zinchenko after being given the option to leave the club before the start of the season fought hard for his place and consequently nailed down his place in the XI in the second half of the season which was the turning point for City.
The Ukrainian has been inconsistent for City over the years and even though this was his best season at the Etihad Stadium, it does not count out the fact that there is a glaring issue at the left-flank for Manchester City.
Football London has understood that Kieran Tierney has been tipped with a move to Manchester City following another impressive season with the Gunners. The former Celtic left-back has been rumored to sign an extension with the former Premier League champions.
Tierney, 24, made 27 appearances for the Gunners, scoring once and assisting on three occasions.
"Neil Lennon, the former Celtic manager writing for the Times opined: ““When I had him at Celtic, Kieran was really confused about what to do in terms of leaving because the club meant so much to him.“Ambition and finances meant he made the right call for his career. For me, he’s Arsenal’s best player.“I could see him going to Manchester City, he’s got all the tools to play for them.“He’s maybe not got the all-rounded left foot that Andy [Robertson] has, that natural whip, but he’s got everything else and he sees things. He’s so athletic and powerful.”Source: The Times"
Arsenal endured yet another difficult season with the Gunners missing out on European football for the first time in 26 years. Having said that, all is not dull for Arsenal fans as there have been rumors of Tierney penning down an extension with the former Premier League champions and the fact that Mikel Arteta might turn to him for a leadership role in the near future.
Tierney will certainly be a good fit for City and it remains to be seen if the Cityzens try to sign him this summer.
