Spanish publication Sport understands that Barcelona are now lining up a bid to secure the transfer of Raheem Sterling as Ousmane Dembele hasn’t yet renewed with the club.
It is understood that the lack of urgency shown by Ousmane Dembele has prompted Barcelona to place the Frenchman on the transfer list. Should he fail to renew with the club, he will be sold this summer as his contract expires in 2022.
Dembele is expected to cost around £60 million fo the clubs interested to sign him though his valuation may increase after Euros 2020. Having said that, it is up to Dembele to decide his future as he will be sold this summer if he does not renew.
Dembele had his best season in a Barca shirt though the numbers might not suggest that. Fitness-wise, Dembele was at his best this season. The Frenchman scored six times and assisted on three occasions. However, he has shown a glimpse of what a fully fit Dembele is capable of.
Sterling, on the other hand, has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City and could seek a transfer this summer in order to find some minutes. The former Liverpool man has been linked with a move to Spain and to Arsenal but it remains to be seen what he decides in the end as the 26-year-old looks to finish his season on a high with the Three Lions at the Euros 2020.
