Manchester City are looking to secure this move for a possible 4.3 million Euros, which is a very low sum compared to the immense talent that the midfielder brings to the table. With Arsenal and Liverpool emerging as the other major competitor, the Cityzens will have to get his signature as soon as possible.
Hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Metinho moved to Brazil as a one-year-old with his father, Abel. Abel is a big fan of the Brazilian football team and wanted to see if one of his children can make it to the national team one day.
Metinho has a strong shot, can pass the ball really well and is also physically imposing. Tipped for big things, the Brazilian midfielder rose through the ranks at Fluminese and even captained the U-17’s in 2020 as they won the Brasiliero Trophy.
The Fluminese academy is known for producing world-beaters with players like Thiago Silva, Marcelo and Fabinho. The newest generation of footballers to come out of this academy are equally talented. Kayky, who Manchester City have snapped up for a fee that can go up to 18 million pounds, dubbed as the “left-footed Neymar” leads the line with Metinho.
Manchester City’s interest in the youngster hardly comes as a surprise to anyone as they continue to build a team for the future. With Phil Foden leading the line, Manchester City also have Kayky, Dario Sariemento, Jayden Braaf, Liam Delap and recently signed Kluiverth Aguilar.
If the Cityzens are able to complete the deal this year, the Brazilian is most likely to go out on load to their affiliate club Troyes in France.
