Manchester City preparing to bid farewell to their mainstay this summer
Manchester City have endured a very tough season and have done really well to clinch their third Premier League title in the last four years and their fourth successive Carabao Cup. Having said that, a lot of credit goes straightaway to the backline of the Premier League champions, which has been one of the best if not the best, this season.

John Stones and Ruben Dias formed a formidable partnership this season and manager Pep Guardiola was cold in his selection as the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager did not hesitate to keep a fully-fit Aguero on the bench and benching Sterling for Foden.
Though almost all his strategies played in his favor, there were many casualties. The likes of Raheem Sterling, Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte, and Gabriel Jesus were hardly used in the big games.
A report from Caught Offside understands that City are preparing for the departure of their then-record signing in Aymeric Laporte who looks set to move to Spain this summer in search of minutes. The former Athletic Bilbao defender looks set for a move back to La Liga with numerous teams said to be interested in signing him.
Barcelona have been linked with the Spain international and it remains to be seen how the Blaugrana goes about signing Laporte this summer, given their delicate financial situation.
John Stones’ revival has cost Laporte his place in Pep Guardiola’s XI, unfortunately.
His teammate in Raheem Sterling has also been linked with a move to Spain with Real Madrid said to be keeping an eye on the Englishman. Sterling has also been linked with an unlikely move to Arsenal though it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old agrees to give up European football next season to join Arsenal.
Should CIty sell Aymeric Laporte or should Pep Guardiola give Laporte more chances?
Let us know.
