Manchester City are set to make some new additions to the squad this summer if the words of chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak are to be taken in a literal sense.
The chairman remarked that City are set to have a busy market this summer and that the Cityzens would ‘be back’ following the UEFA Champions League final heartbreak.

With the newly-crowned Premier League champions all set to sign the replacement for Sergio Aguero this summer, there are a few more additions to the line-up, particularly because many departures are anticipated.
The likes of Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, and Gabriel Jesus are all linked with a move away from the club this summer. Having said that, Todofichajes understands that the Cityzens are already lining up a replacement for Joao Cancelo with manager Pep Guardiola keeping a close eye on Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto.
The Spaniard has had an injury-marred season which has restricted him to only 15 La Liga appearances. An underwhelming season by his and the club’s standards, Roberto’s future at the club has come into question with several reports indicating that the full-back’s time at Camp Nou has come to an untimely end. With Barcelona having secured the signing of an exciting prospect in Emerson Royal, it seems even more likely.
Roberto’s contract is set to expire in 2022 and if the Blaugrana doesn’t want to extend his stay, they are bound to cash in on the 29-year-old.
Manager Pep Guardiola is said to be a fan of Roberto and would like to have the right-back play under him.
It is believed that City expressed their desire to sign Roberto a few months back while offering Joao Cancelo as a part of the swap deal but the Spaniard shot the move down in favor of Barcelona. Having said that, times have changed now and a move to England might be the best chance that Roberto gets to revive his career.
A fee in the range of €20-25 million is likely to be enough to land the Spaniard.
With the summer window looming, should City pursue Sergi Roberto?
Let us know.
