Manchester City contact Eintracht Frankfurt star’s agents
According to a report from Sport Witness, Manchester City have made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre’s Silva agents about a potential move this summer.
Andre Silva, 25, was in blistering form for Eintracht Frankfurt this past season, scoring 28 goals in 32 Bundesliga appearances—a tally only bettered by Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski. The Portuguese international also contributed with eight assists, helping Eintracht Frankfurt qualify for the Europa League.

The 25-year-old striker’s goalscoring exploits has caught the eye of some of the game’s elite clubs, including Manchester City. The Cityzens are looking at Andre Silva as a replacement for the departed Sergio Aguero, Sport Witness claim.
It is said that Eintracht Frankfurt will demand up to €40m to sell their Portuguese marksman this summer. Manchester City officials have got in touch with the GestiFute agency that represents Silva, whose advisors are ‘entitled’ to around a quarter of the transfer fee in question, the report adds.
That could see the Bundesliga club push up the price for their star striker considering they’ll be losing some of the money.
Manchester City are in the transfer market for Sergio Aguero’s replacement, with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak confident the club can find one before the new season commences. Aguero has joined Barcelona upon the expiration of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, thus, leaving Pep Guardiola without a prolific striker in his squad.
Gabriel Jesus hasn’t done enough to prove he should be the man to lead City’s attack regularly from next season. Hence, it is vital the Cityzens find a bonafide goalscorer, and Andre Silva could be that player for Pep Guardiola.
Silva has been brilliant for Eintracht Frankfurt, proving that he can score goals at the highest level. The centre-forward, whose contract at Deutsche Bank Park expires in 2023, will be one of the players to watch in the upcoming UEFA Euro 2020.
At the age of 25, the Portuguese is at the perfect age to take the next big step in his career. Silva certainly has the talent and potential to cut the mustard in the Premier League, and a move to Guardiola’s City should just be ideal. Hence, City must not waste much time in acquiring the striker’s services.
