Fabrizio Romano has revealed that City have opened talks for one of the World’s best
Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester City ever since reports from the White Hart Lane emerged indicating the 27-year-old’s desire to leave Spurs.
Kane, 27, has evolved to establish himself as one of the very best strikers in the game in recent years but the Englishman has grown frustrated with the lack of silverware in the Spurs’ trophy cabinet.

Tottenham had a very good chance to win themselves their first-ever Europa League this season but the 2018 UEFA Champions League runners-up threw away a 2-0 lead against Dinamo Zagreb.
Furthermore, Spurs lost the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City last month.
Having said that, it is quite natural to think that Kane has grown frustrated at Spurs and wants to win silverware.
Manchester City will find it extremely difficult to find a striker who can replicate Barcelona-bound Sergio Aguero’s feats at the Etihad Stadium. Having said that, if there is anyone who can be as legendary as Aguero was for City, Kane has the potential, talent, and skills to achieve that.
The Cityzens are close to opening talks with Spurs over a possible deal regarding Harry Kane, as per Fabrizio Romano, who spoke about the Kane-City links in his ‘Here We Go’ podcast.
It is understood that Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham is adamant about his stance to keep his most prized asset in Kane at the club. The Englishman still has three more years to go before his current contract expires and Spurs are therefore under no obligation to cash in on the 27-year-old immediately.
In other words, unless the player forces the move, it is highly unlikely that we will see Kane in a Sky Blue shirt next season.
Tottenham have valued the English striker at a mammoth £150 million and even if Spurs are open to selling Kane, it is highly improbable that City would be open to splashing such a huge amount on a player who is soon to be 28 this July.
"“Manchester City are convinced that Harry Kane is the first target. So they want to try for Harry Kane. They are intending to open talks in the next weeks for Harry Kane, but at the moment and the position with Tottenham, we have to respect Tottenham’s position, it’s still the same.”, said Romano, sepaking about City’s intentions in the coming days. Also in the last hours, Harry is saying ‘I want to leave the club’, this is the position obviously privately. But from Tottenham the answer is always the same. They want to keep the player.”Source: ‘Here We Go’ podcast"
