Harry Kane has been on the watchlist of Manchester City and it is no secret. Pep Guardiola is on the lookout for a new number nine as the club’s premier and record goal-scorer in Sergio Aguero is set to leave the club this summer.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

The Tottenham striker has asked the club to sell him this summer, though the player hasn’t turned in an official transfer request. Tottenham has been the childhood club of the Englishman and the 27-year-old does not want to leave the club on shaky grounds.

Mirror understands that Tottenham club chairman Daniel Levy has rejected Manchester City’s first attempt at securing the signature of the 27-year-old ever since reports about Kane’s desire to leave the club came out.

Though the specifics of the deal haven’t come out yet, it is understood that Levy does not want to part ways with his most prized asset, especially since the Englishman’s contract doesn’t run out until 2024.

It was always expected that Levy would play hardball.

Numerous reports indicate that the Lillywhites value Kane at a massive £150 million fee. Many pundits argue that £150 million for Kane is a bit too much and that is solely due to the Englishman’s age. Kane, soon to be 28, has established himself as one of the finest strikers in the game and is on his way to breaking the Premier League all-time scoring record.

Kane has also expressed his desire to continue in the Premier League itself with Manchester United, and Chelsea also said to be keeping tabs on the situation surrounding the England International.

Speaking about Kevin De Bruyne, Kane mentioned that the Belgian playmaker is every striker’s dream thus fuelling the already brightly burning rumors surrounding Kane and a possible stint for the 27-year-old at the Etihad Stadium.

Kane might well be on his way to Manchester as the Premier League champions are said to be ‘very interested’ in signing the Englishman.
