Declan Rice, 22, has established himself as one of the most reliable and talented holding midfielders in Europe. The Englishman has enjoyed a successful  2020/21 season and has been consequently linked with a move away from the London Stadium.
Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea are the clubs said to be interested in signing the 22-year-old.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

Last season, Rice was very close to completing a transfer with Chelsea but the move could not happen. Moreover, with the way N’golo Kante is going about his business, it is highly unlikely that Rice would get enough playtime in what looks like a settled Chelsea line-up.

That leaves Manchester City and rivals United as the player’s best bet at securing himself enough playtime and some high-quality football.

Let’s talk about Manchester United first.

Fred has not met the expectations this season and could be sold this summer. If that does happen, United would want to make a move for Rice to make it a straight slot-in for Fred. Having said that, the Red Devils would first want to secure the signing of Jadon Sancho as the absence of a quality right-midfielder has hurt them this season.

Coming to City, it is a no-brainer that the Premier League champions would be interested in securing the signature of the English Internation. Fernandinho, 36, is tipped for another season at the Etihad but that is going to be his last if he does agree to a one-year extension. But as it stands, Fernandinho has been linked with a move to Brazil at the end of this season.

Manchester City line up a bid for the long-term replacement of Kevin De Bruyne and Fernandinho. dark. Next

The Manchester City skipper will go down as a club legend and Rice is a very able and talented midfielder who can replace the Brazilian.

Having said that, UK outlet Express understands that it is going to be a transfer race between the Manchester rivals for the signature of West Ham United’s skipper.

West Ham have valued their skipper at £100 million but David Moyes, the current manager of West Ham United and the former manager of Manchester United believes that the 22-year-old is worth more than that.

Moyes wants Rice to stay as he has had a pivotal role to play in West Ham’s 2020/21 campaign which by all means, has been a successful one.

"I don’t agree with the owners that Declan Rice is a £100m footballer. Far, far more than £100m. Far, far more.“I look at the players who have joined some clubs from overseas and come in and nowhere near had the impact Declan Rice would have.“I certainly wouldn’t put a price on it. You can decide which figure you want to put on it but I wouldn’t be sanctioning anything like that, that’s for sure.”, said David Moyes about Declan Rice possibily moving away from the London Stadium this summer.Source: Express"
