Manchester City superstar on the radar of Premier League rivals
Benjamin Mendy has endured a difficult season at Manchester City by all means. On the injury front, the French International had constant and annoying run-ins with his knee problems. When he was match-fit, poor form did not help him and the 26-year-old was consequently dropped from the City XI. The 2018 World Cup winner was also the subject of criticism following a party that the full-back organized in midst of the lockdown.

In short, Mendy’s injury problems coupled with poor form have put his future at Manchester City in a spot of bother.
Chelsea have recognized the situation surrounding the 26-year-old and ready to make a move for the City star, as per Todofichajes.
It is understood that a fee in the range of £18 million would be enough to convince the Premier League champions to part ways with Benjamin Mendy.
Mendy has only made 11 appearances this season and has shown no signs of why he was bought in the first place, back in 2017.
Oleksandr Zinchenko’s recent rise to form has meant that Mendy has been pushed down the pecking order even further. With City reportedly in the market for a new left-back, Mendy’s struggles to find a stable place in the City XI are likely to continue.
The Cityzens have been linked with the exit-bound Ryan Bertrand this summer. The 31-year-old has made 258 appearances for Southampton and is an experienced operator. Bertrand is certainly an attractive option for clubs looking for a proper left-back, especially given that he will be a free agent this summer.
Manchester City should consider parting ways with Benjamin Mendy. The 26-year-old’s constant injury struggles and his questionable lifestyle aren’t helping the team in any way and Ryan Bertrand would certainly be a very good fit for the current City XI.
Though the 31-year-old may not get much of game-time, his very presence in the City squad would add some much-needed stability in the left-back position.
