Aguero’s 2020/21 season has been marred with injuries and illness and it is fair to say, it is tough for even a player like Aguero to find a place in the current City XI.

For long, Aguero has been closely linked with a move to FC Barcelona and Mundo Deportivo understands that Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, has given the green light to the club to sign Aguero this summer.

It is understood that the deal will be made official after the UEFA Champions League final later this month.

Sergio Aguero is likely to be a great addition to the current Barcelona team as the Blaugrana is unable to convert finish the massive number of chances being created. In short, Barcelona need a proper finisher and Aguero, despite his age, still remains as one of the deadliest finishers in the game.

The 32-year-old is reported to have agreed to a pay-cut in order to join Barcelona. The financial situation of Barcelona is not at its greatest and due to the massive wage structure of the club, it wouldn’t be feasible for the Blaugrana to pay Aguero’s current wages.
