Credit must be given to Pep Guardiola as he got Manchester City through the toughest of starts to this season to win the third Premier League title in the last four years.

What is even more impressive is that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager had to resort to unconventional methods to get the goals coming in.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

Sergio Aguero was out injured for the most part of the season and Gabriel Jesus too suffered from illness early on. Following a shaky start, it was up to Pep and his men to give it all for the title without the services of a proper number nine.

The likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne, and Phil Foden were employed as the number nine in the XI.

It worked and it worked amazingly well for the Champions of England. The next season, however, is not going to be easy for the Premier League champions as they must now get a proper striker into the setup. With Sergio Aguero all set to leave the club after a decade at the end of the season, Paul Hirst of the Times understands that City have identified a four-man shortlist to replace their record goal-scorer in Sergio Aguero.

In the recent past, the Cityzens have been heavily linked with Erling Haaland and Harry Kane and it is a no-brainer that both Haaland and Kane enter the list.

Tottenham’s Kane has reportedly asked the club to let him leave this summer and with his contract set to expire in 2024, Spurs have got the perfect chance to cash in on the striker.

Haaland on the other hand is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in European football, and the asking price for the 20-year-old is set in the range of £150 million.

Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Andre Silva are also on the list.

With Martinez having recently secured an extension with the Serie A champions, it is highly unlikely that he would leave Inter this summer.

Andre Silva, 25, has recorded some impressive stats in the Bundesliga this season. The Portuguese striker has got 25 goals and five assists next to his name from 30 appearances.
