Another Manchester City superstar set to follow in Sergio Aguero’s footsteps in a shock exit
Sergio Aguero is set to leave the club after a decade and the Argentine is going to leave a huge void to be filled, once he does embark on his next journey. The 32-year-old is the most prolific goal-scorer in Manchester City’s history and his services will be hugely missed by the soon-to-be Premier League champions.

Aguero hasn’t featured much this season as this season for the 32-year-old has been hugely marred with injuries and illness. Having said that, City were always ready for a situation like this to turn up. Keeping in mind that the Sky Blues would have to replace Aguero one day, Gabriel Jesus was bought in 2017.
In his first 11 games, the Brazilian found the net seven times and was all set to be the next big thing in front of the goal. The 23-year-old though doesn’t appear to carry the same amount of confidence with which he once played and has been consequently warming the benches in the bigger games. For instance, the Brazilian could not manage to nail down a spot in the XI that took on Paris Saint-Germain last week.
Daily Mail understands that Manchester City would be open to the idea of letting Gabriel Jesus leave should a suitable offer arrive. Once thought to be the one to replace Sergio Aguero, Jesus is now close to a very untimely exit from the club. The 23-year-old has been also given an adequate number of chances this season but has only managed to find the back of the net eight times from 26 appearances.
It is understood that Pep Guardiola is looking closely at Harry Kane and Erling Haaland as the ones to replace Sergio Aguero at the club. Jesus is simply not trusted to deliver in the crunch situations anymore.
The 23-year-old is likely to stay at City to fight for his place but if City decide against launching a massive bid for either Kane or Haaland this summer, Jesus could be handed one final chance next season to prove his worth to the club. Mind you, Jesus has never recorded a Premier League season tally of more than 14 goals.
