Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed the situation regarding Erling Haaland and it has been made clear by Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke that the Norweigan striker will be staying with the German outfit for the next season as well.
Earlier, it was believed that the former Bundesliga Champions would be open to the idea of selling their most prized asset if a suitable offer came along the way. However, it seems that the times have changed. Dortmund are currently battling it out with Eintracht Frankfurt for a Champions League spot for the next season.
Erling Haaland could also decide to force a move away from Dortmund should they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, but it is highly unlikely as Borussia Dortmund insist that 20-year-old “totally agrees” with their decision to keep him for another season.

Clubs interested could still try to land the 20-year-old though. There is a release clause in Erling Haaland’s contract that only gets activated in 2022. The release clause is said to be worth £65 million. Waiting for the clause to get activated is something many clubs are following as the COVID-19 pandemic has put a huge dent on the finances of football clubs all over the World.
With Sergio Aguero set to leave the club this summer, there will be a huge void that will be left by the 32-year-old. It would be absurd to think that any other player could emulate Aguero’s feats at Manchester City but if the Cityzens want anyone to get even remotely close to Aguero’s numbers, Haaland is certainly a safe bet.
