CIES football observatory reports that Phil Foden and not Kevin De Bruyne is the most valuable player for Manchester City. Yes, it a shocker for many.

It is understood that Phil Foden’s current value is between €120 and €150 million.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

Phil Foden is regarded as one of the brighter talents in European football and the 20-year-old initially endured a slow start to the season with Pep Guardiola not giving him enough chances.

The equation has changed now surely and now the midfielder is currently bossing the middle of the pitch. The 20-year-old is a fast learner and in such a short span of time, he has established himself as one of the mainstays in the City line-up.

Manchester City, despite being on top of the Premier League table and with a quadruple very much in the store, did not have the brightest of the starts to the season themselves. The former Premier League champions were initially marred with injuries and illness within the set-up which caused a few too many selection headaches for Pep Guardiola.

With most of the squad fully fit and available for selection, the Cityzens are now 14 points clear at the top of the table, having played a game extra in comparison to second-placed rivals United. The Sky Blues are also in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals and they start as the favorites ahead of a stiff Dortmund challenge.

In addition to that, the Cityzens are also in the finals of the EFL Cup and will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the second week of April.

The Sky Blues have also got a very busy summer window coming up as the former Premier League champions are likely to enter the market in search of a striker. Manchester City have been closely linked with Erling Haaland and it remains to be seen if they will be successful in securing the signature of one of the brighter prospects in Europe. With Dortmund valuing their star striker at a mammoth €180 million, and with many other clubs in contention to secure the signature of the 20-year-old, it remains to be seen if City can pull off one of the most sensational transfers in recent times.
