Pau Torres has been very impressive this season, playing for Villareal. Naturally, the 24-year-old has caught the eyes of several big clubs including Manchester City and rivals United, as per Caught Offside.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

Manchester City’s defense has been absolutely rock-solid this season Ruben Dias and John Stones at the center of the backline have done a brilliant job and their partnership hasn’t shown signs of slowing down. Their defensive wonder-work has been well complemented by Ederson Morales in between the goal-posts.

As the current situation stands, the former Premier League champions are not in immediate need of securing a defensive backup for the next season. Pep Guardiola has got a strong defensive line-up at his disposal. The likes of Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte are also available for selection. While Ake recently made a comeback to the City training grounds, he is yet to prove his worth to the club.

Manchester United on the other hand though, have got loads of issues when it comes to their defense. Regular schoolboy errors have cost the Red Devils numerous points and are no longer in contention for the Premier League title after initially posing a threat to reclaim the Premier League title after nearly eight long years.

Torres is likely to cost €60 million for any of the clubs that might be interested in him. This is because of the quality that he brings to the table and the number of years that he can play for a club. He is only 24 now and surely has a long way to go.

Manchester City will be keeping an eye on the situation surrounding Pau Torres but it is highly likely that the 24-year-old will not be a priority for the Sky Blues. The Cityzens continue to be linked to Erling Braut Haaland, Lionel Messi, Romelu Lukaku, and Harry Kane. Landing a top-class striker will be a priority for the Sky Blues. Either Kane or Haaland is likely to make a trip to the Etihad Stadium this summer and the asking price for either of them is expected to be in the range of £100 million. For Haaland though, a bidding war is in the reckoning, given how many teams are interested in the 20-year-old.
