Manchester City have got a very busy summer window coming up as the former Premier League champions have been linked with a series of big names. The list includes some of the biggest names in European football such as Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.

More from Man City Transfer Rumors

Daily Mail understands that Jack Grealish is eager to join Manchester City as the English midfielder is keen to play under Pep Guardiola. The Aston Villa skipper has been in fine form off-late and it is only natural that he has attracted attention from Manchester City.

Last season Manchester United were the ones trying to sign the 25-year-old but failed in their attempt to do so. Consequently, Grealish agreed to a five-year contract with Aston Villa. This means that the 25-year-old is currently valued at £100 million and with United ready to spend big on Sancho this summer, the way seems pretty clear for the Sky Blues.

All is not sure though. The Cityzens will enter the market in search of a pure striker who will be a long-term option for the club. Erling Haaland is touted to join Manchester City and by no means will Borussia Dortmund be ready to sell him for less than £100 million this summer. As many as six teams are said to be interested in the Norwegian striker and a bidding war for the 20-year-old can be expected.

Haaland’s contract is rumoured to include a release clause worth £65 million which gets activated only in 2022. Having said that, it is highly unlikely to think that the teams interested in the 20-year-old would want to wait until the next season.

Jack Grealish might prove to be a quality addition to the current City line-up but he is not the need of the hour. With Aguero looking set to walking out as a free agent this summer, the former Premier League champions will need to get themselves a new quality striker ahead of the next season.
