Having said that, it is understood that the City management is prepared for the day that Aguero leaves and are consequently, lining up replacements to replace their record goal-scorer. Goal understands that Manchester City are said to be keeping close tabs on Atletico Madrid’s João Felix.
Felix was bought by the Rojiblancos for a mammoth fee of €127 million but the Portuguese has only found the net 19 time for the Spanish giants since arriving at the club. Having said that, Simeone hasn’t looked like he’s got much faith in the youngster with constant questions being raised on the 21-year-old’s committment to the club.
Sergio Aguero is tipped to leave the former Premier League champions at the end of this season and it is believed that the Argentine is hopeful of landing himself a stint with FC Barcelona as he wishes to play alongside his national teammate and friend, Lionel Messi. New club president Joan Laporta is believed to be approving of the plan.
Aguero was on the bench in City’s 2-0 loss in the Manchester Derby. Moreover former Sky Blues defender Pablo Zabaleta has revealed that Aguero was left very upset after he wasn’t chosen in the XI, thus fuelling the probability of the iconic Argentine and Manchester City forward’s departure this summer.
Sergio Aguero is arguably the greatest player in the history of Manchester City and it is tough to see him warming the benches. The Argentine would have been a sure-shot starter had it not been for injuries and illness this season.
What’s done is done though. A lot is likely going to depend on the 32-year-old’s ability to fight for his place in the XI but with not many games left in the season, time is running out for the 32-year-old.
